After the kiss seen around the world and other unscripted events took place on stage at the American Music Awards, Adam Lambert was canceled from performing on Good Morning America.

So it was a surprise to see GMA book Chris Brown a week later. I am not sure what message is been sent here, but one thing is clear GMA is playing favorites.

I can’t speak on Lambert’s behalf after going off script on his dance routine and making controversy when there shouldn’t have been any, but getting Chris Brown, who is a convicted felony aka a woman beater, to replace him doesn’t look good for GMA.

So far GLAAD has not released a statement yet but I won’t be surprised if one is released soon.

If attention and free publicity was what American Idol alum Adam Lambert was seeking during his Sunday night performance at the AMAs, then he’s definitely getting it!

Adam’s very raunchy performance was all the talk following the American Music Awards show.  While closing the show with his new single “For Your Entertainment,” Lambert, 27, simulated oral sex with a male dancer, kissed male keyboardist Tommy Ratliff, grabbed his crotch and flipped off the crowd. According to Rolling Stone, Lambert didn’t clear the kiss with anyone in advance; he told CNN the smooch happened “in the moment.”

His performance was edited for the west coast feed of the awards show.  Adam however makes it clear he is not sorry for his performance and blames a double standard for his performance being edited on the west coast feed.

“You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person,” he told Access Hollywood. “I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.”  He also said he considered editing his performance “discrimination.”

UPDATE: It now seems there will be consequences for Adam’s actions during his performance. TMZ is reporting that Adam’s scheduled appearance of ABC’s Good Morning America has now been canceled.  A rep for the show told TV Newser, “Given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”
