Heidi Montag Tell Jay Leno She Doesn’t Need Men Controlling Her Career

Heidi Montag spoke to Jay Leno and explains the path her career is going.  She told Jay, she doesn’t want men telling her what to do.

She also told Jay, the ease at which she fired her husband Spencer Pratt as her manager.  “I kind of just woke up one morning and was like, ‘You know, you’re fired, but have a great day and I’ll talk to you soon.”‘ Read the rest of this entry »

NBC Picks Jay Leno

And the winner is, Jay Leno! But it really wasn’t a fight; NBC wanted Jay at his old time slot so they did whatever was possible to make that happenConan O’Brien will stop taping of The Tonight Show after next week, and then the show’s former, long-time host, Jay Leno, will replace him.  The Tonight Show will remain on NBC and will reportedly air at 11:35 pm.

Last year, Conan replaced Jay as the host of The Tonight Show, and Conan left NBC’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien in NYC to host The Tonight Show in L.A..  Jimmy Fallon now hosts Late Night With Jimmy Fallon at 12:05 am on NBC.  But last year, Jay changed his mind about retiring, and came back to NBC to host The Jay Leno Show — an hour-long variety show which airs at 10 pm.

We blogged about the possibility of Jay Leno leaving NBC if Conan is pushed out, but I guess that was just all talk  since he had to redo his contract to fit back into his old time slot.

Is Jay Leno Leaving NBC?

This mess all started when NBC felt they needed to move Jay Leno back to his original time slot, but never brought it up to the guy (Conan O’Brien) who currently occupied that time slot.

Now NBC has a new set of problems.  Amid rumors that Conan is not going to stick around, Jay is now been rumored to leave NBC also.  It seems Jay is looking like the culprit who instigated the move, but that is far from the truth.  Jay and Conan are friends and he feels if Conan leaves, the blame will come down on him as the guy who made Conan jobless when he had absolutely nothing to do with the time change.

So now NBC is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If Conan leaves, then Jay Leno might leave with him and if Conan stays then they still have to find a time slot that’s suitable for both hosts.

I am sure CBS, FOX, and ABC are laughing their butts off at the current predicament NBC is in.

NBC Gives Conan O’Brien 3 Choices Regarding Talk Show

One can’t help but feel sorry for late night talk show host Conan O’Brien as NBC has yanked his talk show time slot away from him just to give it back to his predecessor Jay Leno.

Just days after NBC announced their bombshell decision to give Leno back his coveted 11:35 time slot, comes news that O’Brien is now left with three options.  TMZ breaks down the funny man’s choices in moving forward with his career.  To be quite frank, neither of them seem too shabby.

Option 1: Quit the show and spend the next four years at the beach. If Conan does this, our sources say NBC would have to pay him the value of his contract. We’re told it’s a five-year deal, worth as much as $20 million a year. With four years to go, Conan could conceivably get $80 million. But given his skin pigmentation and, possibly, his ego, the beach is unlikely.

Option 2: Go to either FOX or ABC. This is where it gets complicated. If Conan were to strike a deal with either network to do a competing show, any salary Conan pulls in would offset the obligation owed by NBC. So, for example, if Conan made $20 million a year at NBC and ABC were to pay him $15 million a year, NBC would only owe Conan $5 mil a year for the four years remaining in his contract.

Option 3: Eat crow and take the 12:05-1:05 time slot. If Conan takes this option, our sources say it’s likely NBC would negotiate a new contract with the same salary Conan was getting before. Even though the salary isn’t supported by the time period, it’s cheaper than paying him off. NBC, we’re told, prefers this option, because Conan would not be splintering Leno’s rating by going to another network.

No word yet on what O’Brien will decide to do. NBC just made a mess of things by taking Jay away from his hit show.  Their poor decision to fire the #1 man in late night television (Jay that is) from his job shows why they continue to come in last amongst other major networks.

TELL US – ARE YOU TEAM LENO OR TEAM O’BRIEN?

NBC Bumps Conan For Jay Leno

So this is what it means to be special, or what people in Hollywood like to call a power move.  The move to the newer time slot for Jay Leno hasn’t been as successful as he would have hoped with ratings, so NBC wants to move their money man back to his original time slot.  The only problem is someone forgot to tell Conan O’Brien about the change.
